Trekking Everest Region:

There are many combinations of treks that can be organized for the Everest Region: Everest Base Camp, the Three Passes (Kongma La Pass, Cho La Pass and Renjo La Pass) Gokyo, Kalapatthar. . . Of course, the most popular is Everest Base Camp. However, Kalapatthar has a much more spectacular view of the surrounding mountain range, Mount Everest and Khumbu Glacier.

Trekking starts either from the village of Jiri (1951m), a 6 - 8 hour jeep or bus ride from Kathmandu, or from the village of Lukla (2840m), a 30 minute flight from Kathmandu. I recommend starting from Jiri, simply because it is much better for altitude acclimatization. The trails are all serviced by teahouses and the local people are extremely friendly.
