The Langtang Region is one of my favourite trekking areas in Nepal. The Langtang Trek starts in Syaphru Besi (1460m). The trail winds through sub-tropical jungle, thick forest and ends in the barrens at Kyanjin Gompa (3730m). The Gosainkund Trek and Helambu Trek are both exhilarating and beautiful.
The trails are excellent and all are serviced by teahouses. The trekking is mostly slow and easy. The people and culture are Tibetan Buddhists, very hospitable.
